Academic Research Partnerships

cross-university collaborations

Our knowledge transfer partnership (KTP) with Manchester Metropolitan University (Manchester Met) established in 2021 is still very much the primary collaboration, but as with any research programme, the deeper the research advances, cross department/university collaborations with fellow experts in the same field becomes a very natural and welcome progression.

The first KTP was so successful, it was awarded 'Best KTP' at the national Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership Awards 2024.

And by this point, a second KTP with Manchester Met was already underway having commenced in November 2023.

Best Knowledge Transfer Partnership 2024

"This is to certify that the Knowledge Transfer Partnership between Manchester Metropolitan University and I Want Plants Limited from 25/05/2021 to 07/11/2023, to develop a new capability to assess the impacts of living green infrastructure was awarded the highest grade of 'Outstanding' by the KTP Grading Panel for its achievement in meeting KP's Objectives".

Technical Expertise

KTP1 focussed on evidencing and quantifying eight key sustainability measures, whereas KTP2's objective was focussed on the utilisation of advanced environmental data analytics and applied AI.

HYVERT's exponential growth in the living wall sector to date, is thanks to the ongoing dedication of a wide range of research academics from not only the KTP2 team, but also academics from the original KTP too.

Notable: Dr David Megson, Director of the Ecology and Environment Research Centre and Dr Emma Coulthard, Senior Lecturer in Ecology, both Manchester Metropolitan University.

Having now reached its conclusion, KTP2 has culminated in the capability to produce bespoke reporting dashboards which detail the accrued and future sustainability and environmental impact following every HYVERT.AI living wall installation. (See below)

A growing research team

We’ve been extremely fortunate to have such a wealth of knowledge and expertise collaboratively working to achieve a successful outcome for HYVERT.

Our academic research team led by Professor in Intelligent Infrastructure Systems, Bamidele Adebisi, was expanded further during KTP2 to bring onboard deeper expertise in the field of AI and data science.

And we welcomed Data Scientist, Olamide Oyediran and Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering (Applied Mechanics), Dr Weizhuo WANG 王 to our team too.
